JMJ Consultancy Services on Women's Health & Maternity Care

(Mandarin or English)

Following successful launch in the Greater London area, the JMJ Consultancy is extending its services to cover all areas in the UK.

The demand for the Services:

The majority of the Chinese female community living in the UK have the following reasons to be unable to get the best health care and maternity services from the UK health service system:

1. Lack of knowledge on the organisation of the UK women health and maternity care services. For example, in the UK, GPs are funding holders, whereas NHS Trust hospitals are health care providers, meaning GPs purchase health services from the hospitals. This relationship results in GPs tending to treat all of their patients' problems in order to save the money, which apparently causes a lot of unnecessary burden to their patients. Under this system as a patient, it is inevitable to have the problems like, how can I know if my GP's diagnosis is correct? Why a treatment takes so long without any progress? Should I see a specialized doctor? And how?

2. Difficulty to express her discomfort and/or to understand a doctor's diagnosis and instructions. Very often, a female patient or a pregnant woman eventually has a chance to see a specialised doctor but feels difficult to get the most from this opportunity. Such as, what is menoxenia? What does hydrolazine do?

To help them to overcome the problems, a group of professional ladies, who have been working in hospitals in both China and the UK for many years, are offering this consultancy service, using either Mandarin or English. The services can be approached via either telephone, or correspondence, even visiting the Agent. Confidentiality in the service will meet the Patient Identifiable Data Protection Act 1996.
