Day 1 London
Depart from London Heathrow airport for Shanghai by a scheduled flight in the afternoon
Day 2 Shanghai
Shanghai is a bustling metropolis located midway on China mainland. Our guide and driver will be greeting you at the airport and escort you to your 3-star hotel. Followed by a tour to the Yuyuan Garden - a living portrayal of the finest landscaping design from Ming and Qing dynasties. Later, a tour to the Bund, which is regarded a landmark as well as the birthplace of Shanghai. With a length of 1km, the bund is dotted with various grandiose solid building of western style dating back to the early years of last century in its west while east of the bund is a new developing Shanghai.
Day 3 Shanghai/Xi'an
In the morning visit the Shanghai Museum, a comprehensive art museum with a collection of over 123,000 cultural relics. In the afternoon, depart Shanghai Hongqiao airport for Xi'an, the capital of 13 dynasties over 2200 years. Transfer to a 3-star hotel after arrival. After a short break, take a tour of the ancient city wall, which boasts the most complete city wall to have survived China's long history. Visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, where we can take a birds eye view of this ancient city.
Day 4 Xi'an/Beijing
The highlight of the day is visiting the Terra Cotta Warriors, the discovery of the life-size terra cotta soldiers drew the attention of world at the time and it is regarded as the eighth wonder of the world. The excavation site houses one of most important archaeological findings of our time. The three pits contain more than 7300 warriors, horses and chariots crafted over 2000 years ago in honour of China's first emperor.
Depart Xi'an by a scheduled flight and arrive in Beijing in the evening. Check into a 4-star hotel.
Day 5 Beijing
An exciting day beigns with a tour of the Tian'anmen (Heavenly Peace Gate) Square, the largest square in the world, covering 100 acres in the heart of Beijing. Move on to the Forbidden City, former Imperial Palace, built in the Emperor Yongle period in 1420 during the Ming Dynasty. In the afternoon, visit the Summer Palace, located in the northwest suburb of Beijing, a former royal resort with beautiful man-made Kunming Lake, rockeries, pavilions, and gardens, among the largest and best preserved imperial gardens in the world.
Day 6 Beijing
Take your long expected excursion to the Great wall, one of the seven wonders in the world. The Great Wall was first built in the 5th century BC with a total length of over 3,300 miles. There, you will live up to the old Chinese saying, "Unless you reach the Great Wall, you are not a hero". After lunch, you will be driven to the Ming Tombs to tour the Ding Tomb, the only one excavated of the 13 tombs. Enjoy the famous Peking Roast Duck for dinner.
Day 7 Beijing/Shanghai
Visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning and then depart Beijing for Shanghai. Arrive in Shanghai Hongqiao airport in the afternoon and transfer to a 3-start hotel, and spend the rest of the afternoon shopping. Enjoy an acrobatic show in the evening.
Day 8 Shanghai/London
Depart Shanghai by a scheduled flight and arrive London Heathrow the same day.
